Weekly Fishing Report

The water temps are still quite reasonable for this time of the year and some good conditions have allowed anglers to get amongst the fish this week including some good kingfish coming from the harbour.

Sportmarine’s Camm Sutherland fished middle harbour landing a metre+ king on a squid head for bait, these fish will be around all Winter so if you’re keen on catching one be sure to use some heavy tackle & try some of the deeper areas around The Spit & Seaforth. Plenty of live bait is available at the moment with some very decent squid reports coming in, casting prawn like squid jigs along most of the harbour’s weedier edges will have you in the zone for this species & as well as a terrific bait they aren’t a bad feed either.

Small mulloway & flathead are feeding around Manly at the moment with the small soft plastic vibes being the new sensation throughout the fishing industry for targeting these fish, simply worked like a soft plastic these lures are hooking fish everywhere for both boat & land based anglers alike.

The beaches are providing some good fish with reports of whiting & bream coming in from Manly to Collaroy, king worms & pilchards are a favourite bait used on smaller hooks while a long cast & quick retrieve of a metal lure over the back of the suds will put you in tailor & salmon territory.

NEWSFLASH!!!!....FRESH LARGE ARROW SQUID IS NOW AVAILABLE IN STORE FROM $9.99 per pack. We will attempt to land this fresh every Thursday or Friday so come on in and grab some
